Bullhead City School District breaks ground on affordable housing development

Bullhead City School District
The Bullhead City School District is using $3 million in American Rescue Plan Act grants to build five or six homes for eligible employees. The idea is they’ll pay below market rate rent and be able to save for a permanent home in the community. Eventually, the district hopes to build about 20 such homes in hopes of recruiting and retaining qualified workers, which has been an issue due to high housing costs and limited supply of housing—a familiar refrain heard throughout Arizona’s smaller towns and communities. Chino Valley recently unveiled a similar project there for teachers.
