Apartment complex breaks ground in Flagstaff amid housing crunch

Wexford Developments broke ground on a project in Flagstaff that will yield 224 units of housing—some of it affordable—and 6,000 square feet of retail space behind Sinagua Middle School. At least 22 of the units will be for workforce housing based on average median income, and the developer won’t discriminate based on source of income. Flagstaff declared a housing emergency in 2020 and developed a decade-long plan to address the shortage, including finding private developers willing to offer affordable units.
