More apartments planned near Chase Field in downtown Phoenix

Downtown Phoenix infill projects continue to bloom, as the latest plan proposes a 235-unit building with retail and amenities in seven stories at the corner of Fifth and Lincoln streets. It will add to the more than 7,000 units that have been built within one mile of Chase Field since the ballpark opened in 1998, with more than half of those going up in the past three years. Developers continue to show interest in the Phoenix area despit rents slumping 4.7 percent year-over year, perhaps because they’re still up 26.9 percent since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.
