25-story Apartment Tower Planned in Tempe
More people could be movin’ on up in Tempe at University Drive and Mill Avenue if the developers are granted an overlay for a new 25-story tower. CA Ventures/Wexford Development wants to create 453 apartment units and 3,800 square feet of commercial space in a 270-foot building at the gateway to downtown Tempe but needs that overlay and a tandem parking use permit. They’ve been working with the city since last July on the proposal for 16 East and have made several changes already, and hope to repurpose what it calls an “underused urban infill site” that’s currently home to a three-story office building and parking deck.
