Courtney Gilstrap LeVinus, president and CEO of the Arizona Multihousing Association, penned a guest column about housing legislation for the Dry Heat, the e-mail newsletter of the Chamber Business News. In it, she noted that the AMA is backing several bills with bipartisan support that she hopes will become law and boost the state’s housing supply. HB2518 requires cities to provide a housing needs assessment and streamline the development process, HB2297 would help redevelop commercial properties into residential without burdensome zoning delays and HB 2734 would slim down the bloated public hearing process on residential zoning ordinances.
