Valley developers bring sustainability to luxury build-to-rent communities to attract residents
Build-to-rent (BTR) communities not only are wooing potential tenants with luxury amenities, they’re also adding more energy-efficient elements to help people save on electricity bills. Longtime Net Zero Energy multifamily developer Ed Gorman of Modus Co. based in Scottsdale is building 720 homes Valleywide with spray foam walls. Also, Scottsdale-based Harvard Investments formed a BTR division called FirstStreet using HercuTech’s HercuWall technology that will result in 15 percent energy cost savings and 15 percent carbon emissions savings annually.
