Land developer plans 1,600-acre industrial park, homes in Buckeye
Who says development is dead in Buckeye due to water constraints? Scottsdale-based Garrett Development Corp. has approvals to build more than 1,200 homes along with 5.5 million square feet of industrial use in the West Valley city. Garrett founder Jeff Garrett owns 847 residential lots near Interstate 10 and SR 85 and is negotiating with a couple of builders to provide homes there. Another developer plans to provide an additional 440 homes in a second phase. Buckeye will soon be home to 8 million square feet of industrial space, so putting residents near their workplaces makes sense.
