Arizona’s housing crisis goes hand-in-hand with the state’s water and heat crisis
The fourth meeting of the state’s housing supply study committee tackled how to meet housing demand more sustainably. High-density housing with smaller lots, less grass, more efficient fixtures and rainwater captures were a few ideas on how to reduce water usage. The committee also discussed changing zoning laws to allow multifamily housing in areas with vacant commercial developments, allowing accessory dwelling units and promoting livable affordable housing instead of hot mobile homes.
