Apartment starts up 24%, posting ‘unexpectedly strong month’

Across the nation, 957,000 apartments are being built—the highest number since November 1973. Apartment starts were up 9.8 percent, and single-family housing starts were up 1.1 percent in February. That said, continuously climbing interest rates and recent banking volatility will dampen growth moving forward.
