Office towers, apartments could be added to two major Phoenix-area shopping malls
Mall kingpin Macerich wants to add fancy offices and multifamily housing near Biltmore Fashion Park and Scottsdale Fashion Square. No plans have been filed yet, but the idea includes 250 luxury units by Biltmore along with a 250,000-square-foot class A office tower, and double that office space along with multifamily in Scottsdale. Macerich said it’ll work out details over the next 18 to 24 months and pointed to a recent project it completed in Washington, D.C. as a template.
