4 Tempe high rises slated to start construction in 2024, bring 1,700 new apartment units

Three cheers to Tempe for its continued progress on building housing, with 3,600 new apartments in the pipeline. Of those, nearly half will be in just four high-rises, as the city doesn’t shy away from denser, higher projects. Residents will be asked to approve a new General Plan in March that would expand that effort toward the flatlands of south Tempe. It’s a bold and welcome step “to correct a supply-demand imbalance that has significantly driven up housing costs in the past few years,” as the article states.
