4.3 Million New Apartments Needed by 2035

The U.S. needs 4.3 million new apartment units between now and 2035, says a study commissioned by the National Multifamily Housing Council and National Apartment Association. Supply simply isn’t keeping up with demand, and the report outlines recommendations to ease the squeeze. Ideas include local and federal policies that support new construction and state laws that override local restrictions.
