The Daily Agenda: Housing in hindsight
After the League of Arizona Cities and Towns quashed all potential legislation last year to boost the state’s housing supply, the main champion of the cause, Steve Kaiser, resigned from the state Senate. But he’s now working outside of the legislature to continue to push the issue, including speeding up approvals and loosening zoning laws. Rep. Analise Ortiz, who supported Kaiser’s efforts, remains a staunch pro-housing advocate, saying housing policy is a statewide concern and constituents need to keep pressuring lawmakers to get things done.
