Work starts on Scottsdale apartment project to replace vacant retail space

Construction began on a project to raze a vacant Scottsdale retail center and redevelop the site for apartments near Scottsdale Road and Gold Dust Avenue.
High Street Residential, the apartment development arm of Texas-based Trammell Crow Co., is developing the 215-unit luxury apartment complex. The site totals 4.2 acres and construction is expected to wrap up in mid-2027.
According to documents submitted to the city when the project was in the approval process, the development will cost about $100 million to complete. The Scottsdale City Council approved the project in 2022.
In a submission to the city, the development team said the site was soon to be vacant, and the project represented a chance for infill development that would bring complementary land uses to the area.
