The phrase ‘affordable housing’ spurs opposition. Arizona housing advocates propose alternatives
Responding to a supposed backlash against the phrase “affordable housing,” a movement has been afoot to fight NIMBYism with a new moniker. The winner appears to be Home Is Where It All Starts, which should go far in creating the 250,000 new homes the Valley needs and helping the 550,000 families that are cost-burdened, paying over 30 percent of their income for a roof over their heads.
