Three multifamily projects in the pipeline will bring more than 1,400 new units if they get the go-ahead from Tempe City Council. One, called Fountainhead, was set to pass the final hurdle in late April; it would add 566 units in three five-story buildings on the southwest corner of Priest and Alameda drives. A 25-story mixed-use project called 16 East University at Mill Avenue and University Drive would provide another 453 units. And near Loop 101 and Rio Salado Parkway, the Rio 2100 Residences is hoping to bring 390 apartments and a coworking space, among other amenities. The two latter projects also would need hearings on May 4.
