Single-Family Zoning Ends in Northern Virginia Metro

Lawmakers in Arlington County, Va., finally have seen the light and voted unanimously to allow by-right multiunit development such as duplexes, townhomes and garden-style apartments in order to address the “missing middle” housing market. Five- and six-unit buildings will be allowed on 6,000- to 7,000-square-foot lots.
