 Phoenix will finally vote on reduced parking requirements at apartments

Will Phoenix City Council finally pare back outdated parking requirements? We’ll find out when they vote on Jan. 24. After pressure from residents, Phoenix greatly watered down a plan to cut back parking requirements in multifamily projects, which would have helped keep costs down and increased affordability. Now, the policy, if enacted, mostly would affect areas near light rail and senior or vaguely defined “special needs” populations.
