Phoenix still nation’s hottest market for build-to-rent construction, report shows

Phoenix is the number one market in the nation for build-to-rent (BTR) homes, with more than 8,000 under construction. Homebuilders and master-planned community developers with land previously slated for houses to sell are shifting gears into the rental model. High interest rates are driving demand for this housing model, which offers more room than apartments along with amenities at a lower cost. BTR communities are going up from the west side to east side, with the largest, called Village at Bronco Trail, boasting 345 homes in north Phoenix near the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. plant.
