Plan to demolish Phoenix police headquarters and develop intersection moves ahead

The Phoenix Planning Commission recently approved a plan to tear down the city’s police headquarters at Seventh Avenue and Washington Street to develop the site plus two vacant parcels.
The city is gathering feedback from neighbors about what should be built and plans to make a formal request for ideas from developers.
Phoenix aims to rezone the entire area to allow buildings as tall as 250 feet and residential density up to 218 units per acre.
