Ongoing housing shortage takes a toll on Tucson renters
With new home permits sinking by more than half in the past year and the resale market shriveling as people hang onto homes, renters are feeling the pinch with higher prices brought on by booming demand. But apartment supply is anemic: Only four developments with 50 units or more are underway in Tucson, and complexes are being fully leased as soon as they open.
