More housing, Mill Avenue improvements among priorities for Tempe officials
Housing was a major focus of Tempe Mayor Corey Wood’s State of the City address in December. He noted that improving the lives of the unhoused was residents’ main concern in a city survey recently and pointed to the increase in units being built by developing taller housing towers. More than 3,500 units were approved in 2023 and 13,500 units are in the pipeline. .“We’re growing up — not out — and redeveloping aging assets in ways that honor our civic past while making the old new again,” Woods said.
