The typical monthly mortgage payment fell by $100 in November, but are still up $720 from a year prior, according to a Zillow market report. Phoenix saw one of the biggest drops in home prices in the nation at 8.1 percent. That might not be enough to jumpstart sales, as prices are still unaffordable for many and new listings are still down 25.4 percent from last year. Renters, meanwhile, from October to November saw the largest one-month drop in rents in at least seven years, at 0.4 percent.
