Glendale and Maricopa County partner to build affordable housing in the city

Maricopa County agreed to give Glendale over $7 million from the American Rescue Plan Allocation Act to build 790 units of multifamily affordable housing. The city will chip in nearly $3 million, and more than $1.2 million in development fees will be waived. Applicants earning 60 percent of area median income or less will be eligible; for example, a family of four with an income of $56,100 a year or less. The four projects include Villa Manuel “Lito” Pena near 67th Avenue and Bethany Home Road, Juniper Square at the northwest corner of 67th and Maryland avenues, Unity at Glendale near Glendale and 51st avenues and 67 Flats at the northwest corner of 67th and Maryland avenues.
