Developers to bring thousands of new Valley apartment units to mall redevelopments

Three major mall redevelopments should bring thousands of new apartments to the Valley in key locations. Park Central in Uptown Phoenix adjacent to Creighton University’s Health Sciences Campus is getting 278 units, with another 338 scheduled to break ground by mid-2024. Metrocenter should see about 3,000 units situated on a proposed light rail extension and only a 15-minute drive from the new Taiwan Semiconductor plant. Developers also are planning 400 units as part of a massive project at the Paradise Valley Mall that will include retail, offices, a hotel, restaurants and a dine-in theater. Near that, an 11-story tower should yield 300 units with a rooftop pool as part of the 92,000-square-foot LifeTime athletic country club.
