Developers eye 2 multifamily housing projects

Maricopa might boost its meager supply of multifamily housing if the city council approves two projects, but they’re not traditional apartments. One development on 24 acres on the northwest corner of Farrell and White and Parker Roads would include 186 single-story cottages ranging from 800 to 1,500 square feet with more of a single-family residential look. It would include small backyards, a clubhouse, fitness center, pool, dog park and playgrounds. The other, on a 5-acre lot on the southwest corner of Gunsmoke and Honeycutt Roads, would include 217 one- and two-story units from 900 to 1,200 square feet. This development also would feature small backyards and a host of amenities, including on-site recycling.
