Developer in Glendale starts work on ‘attainable housing’ for teachers, nurses and more
The West Valley has been doing a bang-up job attracting new businesses, like a Nestlé USA plant and VAI Resort, but now they need to bring in the workers. Enter Greenlight Communities, a private developer providing 539 new units in two workforce housing projects in Glendale. The Streamliner Aldea and Cabana Aldea locations will offer slightly below-market rent and amenities like pools and fitness centers. Greenlight expects Cabana to open in the fall and Streamliner by the end of the year. Phoenix Councilmember Betty Guardado, who was at the groundbreaking, said, “We want to make sure that our teachers, that our essential workers, that are firefighters, that are police officers, that everyone can live within the community that they work.”
