Developer emphasizes affordability with “Streamliner” communities

Scottsdale-based developer Greenlight Communities continues to provide housing for the “missing middle” who can’t afford luxury apartments but aren’t getting government assistance. Their income falls around $35,000-$60,000, which includes teachers, first responders, retirees and service workers. Rents will run a few hundred dollars a month less than luxury units. The company’s first “Streamliner” community is expected to open in March 2024 at 67th Avenue and McDowell, followed by one a month later at 16th Street north of Van Buren Street. Two more, near 87th and Peoria avenues and 99th Avenue near State Farm Stadium, are also in the works. Greenlight keeps costs down by building smaller units on “underutilized” land using their own general contractors and civil engineers.
