Compromise plan for ‘The Ranch’ project in Gilbert wins OK
A once-contentious development on more than 300 acres in Gilbert received approval from the Town Council after changes were made to the plan. The Ranch will include 750 units of multifamily medium-density housing on nearly 15 acres along with about 221 acres of light industrial, 51 acres of general commercial, 15 acres of mixed-use/large and 9 acres of mixed-use/small development. A council meeting in September resulted in three people being removed, but since then, the developers worked with neighbors on their concerns, including building height, traffic and noise. The new project will include 16.6 acres of open space bordering the Morrison Ranch neighborhood to the west.
