Chandler lobbyists see housing, water as big issues in 2025

Chandler’s lobbyists told the City Council there are two major concerns they are watching when a new legislative session starts in January: Housing and water.
Peters said this new legislative session will be a little different than last year because lawmakers will not be under severe budget pressure. Last year they faced a $1.4 billion budget deficit. Peters said so far this year, they are projecting a surplus.
But that could present a new set of challenges for cities, Peters said.
The top issue for lawmakers heading into the session remains housing –– both the lack of enough and its cost.
