Chandler eyes massive zoning code changes
Chandler’s Planning and Zoning Commission is looking at proposals to ease up on stringent rules that have hamstrung business and development there. For multifamily, it’s considering loosening onerous parking requirements, letting developers build up to 55 feet (as opposed to the current 45) without getting a mid-rise overlay and allowing shipping containers to be used as building materials. Also, like Phoenix, it’s considering allowing accessory dwelling units with cooking facilities to make them fully livable.
