CG panel turns down controversial apartment plan

Casa Grande NIMBYs managed to stymie 120 housing units by hoisting the trusty red herring of traffic concerns. Commissioner Rick Peters, who voted against the project, hit at the heart of the issue with this statement: “We hear it all the time. They (the community) don’t appreciate apartment complexes no matter where they are. We’ve been approving these apartment complexes and there’s a need for them,” said Peters.
