Caliber Cos. plan to convert aging Phoenix hotel into apartments

A second Ahwatukee Foothills hotel just off the I-10 and Elliot Road, Four Points by Sheraton Phoenix, will likely be converted to 100 apartments. The aging property is just south of the Quality Inn that’s in the process of being repurposed, and both are part of a growing trend to overhaul hotels and vacant office buildings for rental housing. The Maricopa County planning commission already recommended approval for the Caliber Cos. of Scottsdale to revamp the hotel, and the Board of Supervisors will vote on it in January.
