Buckeye 2,818-acre North Star Ranch development moves forward over objection of neighbors

Arizona Republic
Buckeye City Council bucked a bunch of NIMBYs to give the OK to a development agreement for a new community west of the White Tank Mountains that will provide a whopping 9,668 homes. Festival Ranch neighbors complained about the multifamily housing, specifically in terms of traffic, water supply and crime. However, Festival Ranch North apartments won’t be built until it gets a water certificate and puts up nearly 2,200 single-family homes. The developer also will beef up fire and police in the area and expand roads to carry the new residents.
