Axon’s north Scottsdale development comes under fire at planning commission meeting

PHOENIX BUSINESS JOURNAL
Plans for nearly 2,000 new housing units in Scottsdale have been scuttled for now no thanks to a large faction of NIMBYs who stormed a planning commission meeting. Axon Enterprise Inc. wants to develop apartments, a hotel, restaurants and retail along with its office headquarters, which were approved. But neighbors oppose a rezoning to make this happen, despite the fact that it’s located along a corridor with other mixed-use and residential developments. Scottsdale’s Airport Advisory Commission voted 7-0 to oppose the project on Jan. 17 and the planning commission voted 6-1 to continue it to Feb. 14.
