With home prices and rent surging, a plurality of Arizonans say they are frustrated over the high cost of living and support new housing construction to alleviate the price burden, according to new polling data from Noble Predictive Insights.
Forty percent of Arizona voters said affordable housing was one of their top three concerns and more than a quarter have seriously considered moving. Those with the strongest feelings were people who have lived in Arizona for 5-10 years, Democrats, voters aged 30-44 and urban residents.
“When people talk about inflation or a cost-of-living crisis, they’re talking about housing,” said Chief of Research David Byler. “This issue just recently burst onto the political scene – and the party that solves this issue could earn massive goodwill with the public.”
