Arizona lawmakers make bipartisan push on affordable housing
Legislators from both sides of the aisle are becoming more vocal in their support of bills that would remove governmental barriers and allow housing supply to flourish. At a news conference on May 3, Arizona Senate President Warren Petersen, R-Gilbert, Sen. Anna Hernandez, D-Phoenix and Rep. Analise Ortiz all spoke in favor of SB 1117, SB 1161, SB 1163, and HB 2536. Now they just need to rally support from colleagues and get it signed by Gov. Katie Hobbs, even though they face ongoing opposition from the League of Cities and Towns.
