Affordable Housing Developments Planned in Tucson’s Mercado District
Two new apartment complexes — Linda Avenue Apartments and Congress Street Apartments — are proposed for Tucson’s Mercado District, offering 126 affordable-rate units without official affordable housing designation. Developer OZ Development aims to maximize unit count while minimizing parking, citing the area’s transit access and community need. The projects will feature locally inspired architecture and are designed to help longtime residents stay in the neighborhood.
