Dominium, a national affordable housing developer, is breaking ground this month on a $250 million affordable housing development in Glendale that will provide 605 units across two projects: Juniper Square catering to seniors and 67 Flats offering traditional apartments. The builder has withstood the ire of many a NIMBY to bring much-needed housing units throughout the Valley (including one hotly contested development in Chandler) but didn’t have too much pushback on this one. Also, the city—seeing the dire need for all types of housing to sustain economic growth—waived development fees and gave funding via block grants and the American Rescue Plan Act.
