$500,000 Grant Will Support Development, Preservation of Affordable Rents and Mortgages
Over the past decade, 86 percent of rental units that cost under $1,000 a month and 75 percent of homes that list for less than $300,000 have disappeared from the Phoenix market. To try to stem the loss of affordable housing and increase the supply, the JPMorgan Chase Foundation gave $500,000 to Regional Community Partners, the nonprofit arm of the Maricopa Association of Governments, to study how to preserve affordable units and link local and tribal governments with consultants on how to b build more housing.
