417-unit apartment complex returns to VPC next Monday

All signs point to “go” for a 417-unit development not far from Chandler Boulevard and the I-10 freeway in Ahwatukee Foothills. Developers plan to raze three “useless” vacant office buildings and erect “highly amenitized” apartments. City Planning staff said the rezoning request is “consistent” with the area’s use in the General Plan. A couple local residents complained about a potential increase in traffic and — this is a new one — more crowding at restaurants.
