22-story apartment tower in downtown Phoenix will begin housing students next year

A new high-rise apartment project near the transit depot at Central Avenue and Van Buren Street downtown will provide 784 units in two towers, including some affordable housing. A 22-story building with 240 units will be dedicated to student housing—including but not limited to those attending Arizona State University—and a 32-story building with 360 units will be traditional housing, with about 7 percent reserved for workforce housing. It’ll include office and retail space, and all parking will be underground to preserve the walkability and urban vibe on the street level. The student housing tower should be open no later than the end of the school year 2024, with the other tower pre-leasing in late 2024.
